I have sat down with the installation card and my workshop manual and worked out a transposition from the three plug Surf ECU to the Prado unit, all good and tested for OK. Also the connection to the signal wire at the injection pump looks, from a very vague photo, to be quite different from the Prado injection pump. The surf has a three plug connection to the ECU whereas my Prado has a four plug connection. However the installation instruction sheet that was included in the kit was for the '95 Surf and it is quite different from my Prado. The reason I bought the chip is because it is set up for the 1KZ-TE engine, the same engine as in my 2002 90 series Prado. The unit I bought was removed from a Toyota Surf, prior to resale. I have followed this thread with interest since before I purchased my used DP34 chip on Ebay. Alternatively if you could scan and email the instruction sheet to me, 'twould be even better. It appears that the white wire from the DP34 harness connects to a red wire entering the injector pump, but the set up looks quite different from my Prado.Ĭould you please look at your installation instruction card and let me know which wire into the injector pump I need to tap into. The photos in the original instruction card are very vague. However the connection to the injector pump signal wire has me a bit tricked. I have worked out the appropriate connections to the four plug ECU on my Prado, transposed from the three plug instructions for the surf. The package came complete with all installation instructions for the surf, but the ECU and the injector pumps are different between the two vehicles. I'm in the same boat as the other guys, bought through Ebay, a second hand (used) DP34 chip, removed from a Surf with the same 1 KZ-TE engine as my 90 series 2002 Prado. But the power more than makes up for that Let me know if you need it but i agree with schaffer if its not configured to the prado it could end up messy but happy to give you the instructions i just take no responsability. I have a set of instructions here if you need them i can copy and post or scan them and email them to you just let me know whats easier you will not be disappointed witht the change though i have noticed my fuel consumption is up a bit i have lost about 100ks per tank.
